Shalom! It’s almost Shabbat!!!! Can ya tell I’m wired?!?!?!?
Re’eh, meaning “see” or “look at” is the name of this week’s Torah portion from D’varim/Deuteronomy 11:26 – 16:17. I believe it was Moshe’s heartfelt plea for Israel to plainly SEE The Almighty was setting before them a choice . . .
• To obey and consequently enjoy the blessings or . . .
• To disobey and reap the consequences of disobedience.
The presentation of both a blessing and a curse implies choice on the part of B’nei Isra’el (children of Isra’el) and for that matter, a choice for us!!! In order to choose, we need to distinguish between good and bad, right and wrong, embracing the commands of the Holy One or shying away from the Truth of His word.
May we each be faithful to obey and reap the consequences of blessings. Not because of the blessings but because we love and honor our Creator!!!
